Kája Saudek (1935-2015) was a Czech illustrator and comic artist. He is best known for his work in the Czech underground comics scene, which he helped to establish in the 1960s. His work often featured surrealist and absurdist elements, as well as a strong sense of social commentary. He was also known for his use of black and white line drawings, which gave his work a unique style. He was awarded numerous awards throughout his career, including the Grand Prix at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in France in 1989. His work has been exhibited around the world and has been translated into several languages.
