Fráňa Šrámek was a Czech poet, novelist, and playwright who is considered one of the most important figures in Czech literature. He was born on June 3, 1877, in the small village of Smilovice in Moravia. From a young age, Šrámek showed a talent for writing and was encouraged by his family to pursue his passion.
In 1896, he moved to Prague to study law at Charles University, but he soon dropped out to focus on his writing career. He became involved with the literary scene in Prague and became friends with other prominent Czech writers such as Karel Čapek and Jaroslav Hašek.
Šrámek's writing style was heavily influenced by symbolism and expressionism, which he combined with elements of realism. His works often explored themes of love, nature, and the struggles of the working class. He also incorporated elements of folklore and mythology into his writing.
His most famous work is the novel "Stříbrný vítr" (Silver Wind), which is considered a masterpiece of Czech literature. It tells the story of a young man's journey through life and his search for meaning and purpose.
